The Christian Wrestling
Federation of Florida is a new entity in the world of professional
wrestling. The purpose of CWF
is to provide churches in the state of Florida another way to reach out to
the lost, unbelievers and those who have backslid.
The CWF combines professional wrestling with the preaching of the
gospels along with soul saving. We
feel that if one soul was saved due to the CWF then the show was a
success.
The
way the CWF works is as follows: When
a church contacts the CWF we go in and speak to the pastor (‘s) and
board of the church about the goals of the church and the format of the
CWF. If after that meeting,
an event is scheduled, and the pastor wishes, one of our wrestlers or
promoters will go to the church and speak to the congregation about what
is going to take place and why they need to take part in the production of
the show.
The
primary focus of the church and show is to bring the word of GOD to the
lost and backslidden of the community in a unconventional way that would
make this target audience want to become right with God.
In order for the show to be a success we need the church members to
fully back the program. We understand that a Professional Wrestling
evangelical outreach program is something that you have never done or
thought about doing. You must
remember that the people who we are targeting are more than likely not the
people sitting in the church pews during your Sunday services. In order
for the program to work it will be up to the congregation to promote,
invite and in some cases even purchase tickets for the unbelievers or
backsliders.
Here
are some of the questions frequently asked:
How
do we explain the violence of pro wrestling to our children?
This
is way we explain it. Professional
Wrestling is very much like professional football.
When two players are friends and they play profession football for
different teams and their teams are playing each other these two friends
when on the field are doing whatever it takes to win the game.
When the game is over they shake hands, they kneel down and pray
together, they go out to dinner, they become friends once again.
The same is true of professional wrestlers.
In the ring we do what we have to make the match exciting.
What make the CWF different from the pro
wrestling that is broadcast on Television?
The
basic difference is that the CWF does not condone foul or obscene language
from its wrestlers. The
wrestlers are not allowed to make obscene gestures to one another or the
audience. You will not see
any half naked women walking to the ring with the wrestlers.
What
kind of audience participation can we expect?
Expect
the worst… Small children
saying things that they shouldn’t, adults giving the wrestlers and
others in the audience finger gestures etc.
Remember this is the target audience.
Based on what the Bible says don’t you think that this is the
audience that Jesus Christ would be sitting next to if he were walking the
earth today.
What
does it cost to have the CWF put on a show for my church?
The
CWF works off of the tickets sales. The
average cost is around $1000.00 depending on the location of the church
and the number of wrestlers needed. This
cost is offset by the sale of
tickets. An average ring side
ticket cost $10.00, general admission is usually $8.00, with children’s
tickets selling for $5.00.
The Christian Television Network airs a program called Bay Focus
which is a forum to talk about different types of ministries.
We have a 15 minute video tape of the program that interviewed
Devin Nash and the senior Pastor Mike Thomas of Praise Cathedral Church of
God. I sure that this tape
will answer many of the questions you may have about doing this type
ministry outreach program.
The
CWF is in the process of raising monies to video tape and air a CWF weekly
½ hour show on the Christian Television Network.
If you would like to donate money to help get this program on the
air waves please make your check out to Christian Wrestling Federation of
Florida.

Hello
Are you Devin? I went to the Forbes Rec. Center the other night and
watched your show. I really enjoyed the show for more than one reason, I
really enjoy the wrestling world and have for many years, but also this
show has a special meaning for me . When you asked if there was anyone who
didn't know our lord and savior and invited them into the ring, to be
saved, my young grandson walked into that ring and I have been after my
daughter to do this with her children for some time, and my heart goes out
to you, for helping him be saved and to know our lord and savior. Devin,
you are a godsend.
Thank
you.
Cathy
